Valeria Téllez Niemeyer

PhD candidate in Art History at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She holds a master’s degree in Mediation, Art, and Publics from Université Paris 8, and a diploma in Industrial Design from Universidad Diego Portales. Her current research explores the impact of electric light in Montreal through visual media from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This interdisciplinary project aims to restitute electric lighting through the history of aesthetic theories, architecture, and urban heritage. Her doctoral research is supported by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Société et Culture (FRQSC).
